NIJISANJI & NIJISANJI EN announce “Luxiem Ukiyoe”

Operated by ANYCOLOR Inc., NIJISANJI EN announces the release of new theme merchandise featuring the VTuber group Luxiem, which comprises Vox Akuma, Luca Kaneshiro, and Shu Yamino. “Luxiem Ukiyoe” merchandise will be available on the NIJISANJI EN Official Store starting from October 22 (Wed) 19:00 PDT!

The art form of Ukiyoe has its roots in the Edo period as a trendy art form with mass appeal. With “Luxiem Ukiyoe”, the traditional art form of Ukiyoe meets the modern culture of VTubers! “Luxiem Ukiyoe” captures the elegance of the Edo period with these majestic portraits of the Luxiem members.

The Japanese “washi” paper used for these woodblock prints is the highest grade Echizen Namekoshi Hosho paper, hand-made by the Living National Treasure Iwano Ichibei.
This hand-made Japanese paper represents the very origins of Japanese paper, made through a painstakingly labor-intensive process. Its production method, considered the hallmark of Echizen paper, is designated as an Important Intangible Cultural Property of Japan.

Furthermore, the carving and printing of these woodblock prints are done entirely by hand using traditional Edo-period techniques. Each artisan belongs to the Ukiyoe Woodblock Engraving and Printmaking Techniques Preservation Society, certified under Article 83 of the Cultural Properties Protection Law. The woodblock print production techniques of these carvers and printers are designated as “Important Selected Preservation Techniques for Folk Cultural Properties” under the Agency for Cultural Affairs' Protection Law.

A total of 4 types of merchandise will be available: Ukiyoe, Post Card Set and Foil Pressed Badge featuring original new visuals, as well as Japanese crepe fabric NIJI Puppet.
